Court Navigator Program launches in Albany County

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Judicial Branch is expanding its Court Navigator Program to Albany County, adding another county to a growing initiative aimed at helping self-represented litigants navigate the court system.

Court navigators are trained volunteers who help individuals handling certain civil matters, including evictions, domestic relations cases, and protection orders, by explaining legal procedures, connecting them to available resources, and guiding them through the court process. Navigators can also help with form completion and referrals to legal aid.

For now, Albany County appointments will be offered virtually. Residents interested in meeting with a court navigator can find scheduling information on the Wyoming Judicial Branch website.

The program launched as a pilot in April 2025, serving select counties as the Judicial Branch tested new approaches to improving access to justice. As of September 2026, the Court Navigator Program is available in Albany, Carbon, Fremont, Lincoln, Natrona, and Uinta counties. Expansion into additional counties depends on resources, including available volunteers.
