SUPREME COURT EXPANDS TIME FOR ELECTRONICALLY FILED DOCUMENTS

Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice E. James Burke is pleased to announce that effective April 15, 2015, electronically filed documents in the Supreme Court may be filed until 11:59:59
p.m. on the date due and be considered timely filed. The 5:00 p.m. filing deadline remains the same in the District and Circuit Courts of Wyoming. As electronic filing is implemented in those courts, the deadline for filing will be increased at a later date.

Another enhancement attorneys practicing in the Supreme Court will notice is the ability to add multiple e-mail addresses to their electronic filing accounts. This will enable their staff to also receive the email notices generated by the Supreme Court’s C-Track Case Management System.

Chief Justice Burke does offer this caveat for filings submitted after 5:00 p.m., “Attorneys need to be mindful that support from the Clerk and her staff or Court Technology will not be available for filings made after business hours.”

Electronic filing is currently limited to members of the Wyoming Bar. The ability of self- represented persons to file electronically will be a future enhancement to the Judicial Branch’s electronic filing systems.
